If you’ve found this page, it’s likely that was no accident. Although trauma has traditionally been considered limited to extreme experiences such as active combat experience, sexual assault, and other potentially life-and-death situations, these are not required for trauma to occur.
Trauma is determined by the effect it has on the individual rather than the actual events that occur. In some cases, instead of having one big intense experience, it feels more like thousands of tiny factors work together to have one big effect. This can result in what we call “complex trauma” because the causes and symptoms tend to be less straight-forward and more all-encompassing than the trauma that comes from one isolated event.
So whether you’ve reached a breaking point from all the stress and emotions piling up or you’re just ready for something to change–I’m happy to help you consider if therapy is right for you. We can start with a short 15 minute chat to help you get comfortable and understand the process a little more to see if it’s right for you. It can also help to break the ice since it can be nerve-wracking to just walk in and share your deepest thoughts with someone new. You can book a free 15 minute consultation by clicking here. I look forward to connecting with you!
